For the last 20 years QACS Lab serves FMCG industries with Testing services. With a customer focused vision and life sciences at the core of it’s daily operation, QACS is an accredited laboratory testing partner to cosmetic, pharma, disinfectant and food industries worldwide.
The cosmetic industry is currently focused on e-labelling & on-pack labelling alternatives for cosmetic and personal care products. A criteria supported by the European Commission, would fulfill the required mandatory consumer centered data to be on display as well as would assist in the mutual benefit of consumer and EU businesses to be met.
Within an environment of increasing demands for consumer safety & product quality, it has become a necessity for product information to be displayed amongst all available media. The European Commission should therefore promote new ways of informing consumers regarding product information, by utilizing digital means, such as E-labelling. This digitalization initiative aims to avoid consumer confusion, ensure consumer safety, increase consumer knowledge & reduce packaging waste.
QACS, Quality Assurance and Quality Control laboratories, member of ERPA, the European Responsible Person Association, supports the joined initiative of the cosmetic industry for the digitalization of mandatory product information in order to communicate personalized consumer information in a more efficient way.

QACS integrates DNA technology into its services. The QACS Molecular Microbiology Laboratory, DNA Microlab, is up and running and we could not be more excited with this new scientific venture!
To deliver fast and accurate results in accordance to your product’s needs, the lab is equipped with genetic analysis, the most accurate and reliable method of identification available today. Provided are genetic analysis solutions for Quality Control, Contaminant Detection and Microbiological Surveillance of finished products, air and surfaces using microbial identification. Molecular testing solutions are provided to the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic and Food industry.
We provide Solutions
- Microorganisms Identification ISO 17025 accredited
- Testing for Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)
- Cosmetic Microbiome Analysis
- Pathogen Detection
- Authenticity
Technology
Microbes that are isolated from ingredients, air, sterile rooms and finished products are candidates for identification especially if their numbers exceed alert or action limits. As the name of the species of the microorganism could play a significant role in the investigation of its source and in the root cause analysis, the lab offers scientific guidance and solutions to further facilitate you with the microbial issue.
At QACS we provide PCR based technology via the DNA isolation method. In this technique a specific DNA fragment containing information about the microorganism’s species (bacteria/yeast/fungi) is amplified via PCR and analyzed in the sequencer. The sequence is then compared with public databases along with the species name, information about ecology, taxonomy, growth conditions, possible pathogenicity and a brief description is provided. Identification of microorganisms is made via DNA sequencing and bibliographic analysis of results, Food Authenticity authentication (Real Time PCR), Rapid analysis of pathogenic and Microorganisms spoilage detection (Real Time PCR).
QACS is committed in the standardization work as a member of SIS/TK 495.
The main areas of contribution to this work are reflected in working on the development of standards for Analytical Methods (allergens, metals, nitrosamines) and Microbiological Standards and Limits (microorganisms detection).
